The Kootenay-Columbia Discovery Centre Society (KCDCS) is excited to offer environmental educational programming at the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area (CVWMA) in 2018 (and beyond!)! The CVWMA ceased operating the Wildlife Centre in October of 2017 and KCDCS has taken over delivering the well established and popular educational programming that people have come to love and respect!
KCDCS will be building a “Nature Station” that will be located in the parking lot of the Wildlife Centre. It will have displays and information and science equipment, kids activity zone and a small gift shop to complement our programs. We will have a washroom facility as well. The Wildlife Centre itself will be closed (due to safety and health concerns, it will not reopen), but at this point we can use the covered picnic area, lower decks and canoe docks! With this new infrastructure set up, we can offer programming that is fun, memorable and enjoyable!
We will be updating information on programs and events as they become available.
We are aiming to open to the public in mid May of 2018.
We thank our program sponsors for their finacial support of our Wetland Education and Awareness Programs for 2018:
- Columbia Basin Trust
- Creston Valley Wildlfie Management Area
