What does "membership" mean?
KCDC is a non-profit society registered under the laws of British Columbia. The registered By-laws set out the purposes of the KCDC:
(a) To advance knowledge of, and foster appreciation for, the Columbia Basin including its history, Ktunaxa cultural ecology and wetland ecology.
(b) To advance the science and practice of conserving the biological diversity of the Columbia Basin.
(c) To raise funding to construct, maintain and oversee the management of a vibrant ecotourism and research facility that will achieve the Society’s purposes.
Membership is open to people, not corporations. The main requirement for membership is to support KCDC in its purposes and Mission!
What rights do members have?
Members have the right to be notified of, call, attend and vote at members' meetings including Annual General Meetings where Board Members are elected. Most importantly, members have the right to speak at meetings. We encourage member participation and place great value on members' comments, suggestions and concerns!
